Dawn on a Distant Shore

Dawn on a Distant Shore - Sara Donati I liked this book quite a bit better than the first. I found the characters to be much more believable and lovable. There's still great chemistry between Nathaniel and Elizabeth, but you could really tell how much they love each other. Losing their children solidified that for me. I also loved that there was a sea voyage. I know a lot of people think that part of the book dragged on and on but I ultimately thought it was a great way to flesh out the characters and give them and their personalities time to shine and grow. We learn so much about Hannah and see what kind of woman she's growing up to be. By the time they reach Scotland, the story really starts to pick up. There's a bit of politics, family intrigue, and some interesting family history that gives the Bonners a more complete family tree.
